We can improve dignity, comfort, and safety, reduce risk of harm and injury to a client and their carer by observing the current techniques being used and identifying solutions best suited to both client and carer.
Moving and handling assessments can be carried out in a person’s home, sheltered housing schemes, assisted living/extra care residences, residential care or nursing care homes. Referrals can be made by an individual, a friend, family member or carer, a care agency, charitable service or care establishment or any involved care service, health professional or health and social care establishment, or other representative.
Sonia from Wharfedale Occupational Therapy has worked for Calderdale, Bradford and Leeds local authorities and maintains these professional connections to work in partnership where possible with their Adult Health and Social Care OT departments and Equipment Loan Stores to access statutory equipment when appropriate for individual circumstances.
