Assessing environment and functionality

An environmental assessment is usually in conjunction with a functional assessment. When we assess an environment we consider the space you require to carry out your activities of daily living, plus space you may need for equipment and / or carers to assist you.

We can recommend and arrange privately funded adaptations to your environment to best meet your needs if this is required, such as access rails to your property or removal of a bath, which can be replaced with a level access shower facility, or wet room.

OUR EXPERTISE

Wharfedale Occupational Therapy has direct access to the knowledge, skills and experience of a Clerk of Works Surveyor who can visit the property with the OT to determine the best solution that will work in your environment.

We can work with your chosen builders / architects to give advice on building schemes and adaptations specific to an individual’s needs.
