About Us

Wharfedale Occupational Therapy was established in February 2017 by Sonia Campbell Thompson. Based near Ilkley, West Yorkshire, 10 miles from Harrogate, Leeds and Bradford.

HOW WE CAN HELP

We are a private occupational therapy (OT) service offering personalised and bespoke OT services to both individuals and care services.

Working as a stand-alone service, or in partnership with private, charitable or statutory services.

Sonia is a lively, passionate and highly motivated Occupational Therapist committed to provide an individual strengths-based client-centred experience. Sonia's skills and experience enable her to offer a variety of assessments to her clients.

Sonia re-trained in occupational therapy following a career in a variety of health and social care roles including care, nursing, therapy rehabilitation and management. Qualifying at York St John University with a 1st class honours degree in 2010 as a mature student.

Professional development and accreditations

Sonia is committed to lifelong learning and professional development, keeping up-to-date with the latest equipment, technology and national guidance and legislation. Sonia attends regular peer supervision and works in partnership with other highly skilled OTs, to constantly appraise her own work.

Sonia is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) and the Specialist Section for Independent Practice (RCOT – SS-IP) and the National Back Exchange. Further to these professional memberships, Sonia is also an associate member of the Case Management Society United Kingdom (CMSUK) and the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM).

Sonia holds an enhanced DBS certificate, and is Data Protection registered working to GDPR regulations.
